| Hi, Sorry, I understand little French so don't know whether this has already been covered! Thanks for PM - it is a great program and I have been looking for something similar for a while. However, since installing PM my Windows XP Home PC won't hibernate properly - it hangs at the 'Preparing to hibernate...' screen I hadn't made any other changes recently so I suspected PM was causing this problem. I uninstalled it last night and XP hibernated and resumed successfully over about 10 attempts. Today I have reinstalled PM and the first time I tried to hibernate, it hung again which means I have to hold the power button in and reboot from scratch next time I think that proves that PM is the cause of the issue! Please can you look into this and fix the problem. Thanks Steven Windows XP Home SP3 Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 2Gb RAM | |

| Hi!
Well, it's seems to be a real big bug!
I don't use hibernation, so I've never encounter this issue.
I will try to fix it, but it may be hard to do.
Thank for the reporting.

| Well, i've made different tests.
PC #1 : AMD Athlon XP2400+ (2ghz) + 1.5 Go RAM Win XP Pro SP3 FR - suspend mode : no problem - hibernation mode : no problem
PC #2 LapTop Core2Duo 2 Ghz + 3 Go RAM Vista Home Premium SP1 FR - suspend mode : no problem - hibernation mode : no problem
Tested with BPM 3.3.1.0, BPM 3.3.1.1 and the beta version I'm working on.
So, I don't know what to do. You have the bug only when BPM is running, but I can't reproduce it :-( I'm sorry. Try to close as many soft as you can before trying to hibernate, it may solve the problem.

It is very strange It may well be an incompatibility with other software I'm running but you're not! I'm pretty sure I had the same problem even after exiting BPM from the tray area - does it load any DLLs into memory that would still be present even after exiting? I didn't realise version 3.3.1.1 was out so I've just downloaded and installed it and will test with that version over the next day or two. I only have 2 rules set so far: DigiTV (TV application) - set to affinity 1 Explorer - set to Normal priority I'll let you know the results of my tests. Thanks Steven

| Hi, I've upgraded to BPM 3.3.1.1 on my PC but it hasn't solved the problem I've installed the same version on my laptop and it's hibernating fine. Both computers have similar things running in the background (such as avast! and Spyware Doctor for example), but do have different specs. (laptop is also dual core but only 1Gb RAM for example). Something weird is definitely happening with BPM on my PC as I don't even get a balloon tip popping up when rules are applied (the checkboxes are ticked though!). Is this a known bug? BPM could be a very useful tool for my PC, and I would be willing to send a donation, but if it prevents my PC from hibernating (which I do every single night) then I'm afraid I won't be able to use it Thanks Steven | |

| Well, it's really a strange bug.
You say there's no popup when applying rules? Well, there's an option to disable "globally" popups on rules. Just open the options, and verify main/rules application
Or may be the config file is "corrupted". You can open options, and clic on the left bottom link to find the config file. Then you stop BPM, and delete the config.xml.
The config file must be recreated on the fly, but with no rules. (But I don't think that will change anything for you ...)
May be you have a driver not update, that may interfere with BPM. It's really hard to say what is wrong.
You may also try to reinstall SP3, and the .Net Framework 2.0. (Just reinstall SP on buggy PC had saved my life many times!)

Under Main - Rules Application, both boxes are ticked, and I haven't chosen NOT to display popups in the individual rules. This is what config.xml says: <ShowToolTipRule>True</ShowToolTipRule> <ShowToolTipRuleAffinityAuto>True</ShowToolTipRuleAffinityAuto> <ShowToolTipLimitation>True</ShowToolTipLimitation> I've just exited BPM, renamed the XML file and then recreated 1 of my 2 rules - it got applied, but still no popup. Anyway, I suppose that's irrelevant if I can't hibernate my PC I'll try reinstalling .NET 2.0 and see what happens. I'd rather not reinstall SP3 at this stage as everything else is working OK If I exit BPM, I assume there's nothing left hanging around in memory? Just that I'm pretty sure it doesn't hibernate unless I completely uninstall BPM - exiting isn't enough! Thanks Steven

| Well, if you exit BPM, it must be unloaded from memory! I don't know what to do for you It really seems to be a compatibility problem with your config (hardware or software, I don't know, unfortunatly.) | |
