Bonjoure!

I find it that Bill2 PM Portable stores the user config file in C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\Bill2_Software\ProcessManager.exe_Url_zq0c5vvrjcdajhavfzmgeicn2p00dge3\3.4.3.1\.

Why? It's useless behavior.No
Maybe, It's bug.

I use Vista x64.

Hello,

BPM store minimal information in this file in 2 cases :
- the program have been launched in "normal mode"
- an option is checked to store main windows settings (in options/main/integration)

I've juste tested it on my old win XP (but it's the same feature for Vista)
If I run BPM in portable mode, no folder/file is created
If I check the option (in portable mode), the file is created
In normal mode, the file is created.

You can try something:
- uncheck the option to force the main window settings saving
- close the soft
- delete all subfolders in C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\Bill2_Software\
- run and close the soft

In portable mode, there must be no subfolders/file created.
If one is created, then yes, it's a bug Rolling Eyes
If nothing is created, I think you have run the soft one time in normal mode, or checked the option described ...

Please, do the test, and tell me the result.
Thanks.

You are right. If I check the force setting option, BPMPortable just stores the folders...

Storing setting file in itself is good
but I suffer inconvenience from that workings.
Couldn't you arrange an option?

For example,

stores setting in main application folder
or
user can customize the default folder to save setting files.

Those settings (windowsmain) are stored "with the application".
Well, in fact, it's a function intregrated with .Net : ability to store settings and reuse them without complex programming. And I can't specify the folder fot that.

The only thing I can do is to store those settings in "my" config.xml file.

I've used this intagrated setting file in an old version, when BPM was not fully multi user, and store the config file in the program's folder.
With this setting files, each user where using the sames rules and options, but the soft (BPM) was remembering main window position and different things.

But I think it's not a big problem. By default, the option to force settings saving is not checked.
So, If you use the soft on a USB key on different PC, no trace will be left.

But yes, I can threat the problem in the other way, and store those settings in "my" own config.xml file (stored in the user folder in normal mode, and in the program's folder in portable mode)

I will think about that fort the next big version (may be a v4.0, I don't know exactly for the moment ...)

Thank for your testings and ideas.
